Carole Gamble

Carole’s writing experience spans everything from wine industry newsletters and professional reports to memoir projects, personal correspondence and countless passionate Letters to the Editor. She believes letter writing is something of a lost art and remains a strong advocate for thoughtful communication and spirited public discussion.

Much of Carole’s writing is driven by a deep concern for environmental degradation, both globally and within everyday local life. She is passionate about encouraging people to think more carefully about humanity’s impact on what she describes as our fragile planet — and she’s never afraid to start the conversation.

Over the years, Carole has thrown herself enthusiastically into an eclectic range of pursuits including nursing, horticulture, the wine industry, small-scale farming and, by her own admission, one somewhat disastrous stint as a restaurant owner. In nearly every case, enthusiasm has comfortably outweighed caution.

Tropical Soda Apple

One of my annoying mantras oft repeated: “weeds are just plants growing where you don’t want them to grow!” but this does not apply to Solanum viarum
