Carolyn Adams

Carolyn Adams’ writing journey began with a love of reading and a bold business decision in 2009 to transform a large section of the now-closed Bangalow Newsagency into a bookshop. With books suddenly at the heart of the village, it seemed only natural that she would begin reviewing them.

Carolyn admits she agonised over those early reviews, worried about sounding like a novice, but over time developed a trusted and thoughtful voice as a reviewer.

She has also written reviews for authors appearing at the Byron Writers Festival, though she says those assignments can be the hardest — particularly when faced with books she wouldn’t normally choose herself.
