ArtNational presents: Opium, Seduction, Greed, Art – 19 October

WRITTEN BY: The Bangalow Herald

The addictive and beguiling qualities of opium led to its use to quieten and calm agitated minds, while greed drove its widespread introduction. But opium also inspired great works of art. ArtsNational Northern Rivers presents a fascinating talk by Amanda Herries, who studied Archaeology and Anthropology at Cambridge and was Curator at the Museum of London, specialising in decorative arts, before moving to Japan where she lectured and wrote on Eastern and Western cross-cultural and artistic influences. Presented by ArtsNational.
